A Celebration Worth the Wait: James & Vickie’s Surprise Vow Renewal in Key West
Some celebrations take a little longer to happen, but the meaning behind them never fades.
On October 14, 2026, I had the honor of helping James and Vickie celebrate 20 years of marriage with a surprise vow renewal in Key West. Through A. Marie Events & Design, I helped bring their celebration together and had the privilege of officiating their ceremony, too.
Their renewal had originally been postponed. When the opportunity finally came to make it happen, it was a joy to help them mark this chapter of their marriage.
Celebrating the Life They Have Built Together
A wedding celebrates the beginning of a marriage. A vow renewal honors everything that has happened since: the shared experiences, changes, challenges, and everyday moments that become a life together.
For James and Vickie, this celebration recognized two decades of commitment. It was an opportunity to pause, celebrate their marriage, and make space for a meaningful moment together.
Key West provided the setting, but their relationship was the heart of the occasion.
From Planning to Officiating
For this celebration, my role extended beyond helping with the arrangements. I also stood with James and Vickie as their officiant, guiding them through the ceremony.
Being involved in both the planning and the ceremony was especially meaningful to me. It allowed me to support the celebration from preparation through the moment they renewed their commitment.
That is something I value deeply in this work: helping people feel cared for while they celebrate an important milestone.
