Destination Wedding Resort Site Visits and Packages

What to Expect at a site Visit:

Well from my experience from attending site visits with clients the wedding staff is very personable and is willing to work with my couples to make sure they get and have what they need. All destination resorts are bidding for couples business so of course they are going to put their best foot forward which I love. The typical site inspection consist of a tour of the resort including the rooms and wedding/reception locations, and if you are lucky a sample tasting of their food, which is the best part of it all in my opinion. Then you sit down with the resort wedding coordinator to go over the details of your wedding as well as what they can offer you and your guest on your stay as well as on your wedding day. You will receive a packet with detailed information on the packages they offer as well as additional services that you might consider adding on.

Some Resorts like the Hyatt Ziva are offering Big Day Preview which consists of the following:

2-night stay for only $500 for two guestsIt’s like getting your preview for free! Now you and a guest can get a preview of your ideal destination. Plus, get a $500 credit toward your wedding with us.

Inclusions:

  • Two-night getaway for two at Hyatt Ziva Cancun

  • All-inclusive accommodations featuring fine dining, signature cocktails and live entertainment – and it’s all included

  • Best Room Availability at check in

  • Receive credit of $500 when you book your wedding – get your preview for free

  • Personal onsite wedding planner will arrange for an exclusive resort tour and special food tastings

I actually love this idea because it gives you an opportunity to experience what the resort is about as well as what it offers you and your guest while you are staying there. Of course there are terms and conditions for the Big Day Preview that they offer and they can explain that to you or you can check out their website for complete details.

How Destination Wedding Resort Packages WorkAll of the all-inclusive resorts typically offer wedding packages they may have one, two or three packages to offer you.

This is an example of what a basic package might look like:

For the bride & groom:

  • Symbolic marriage ceremony & certificate performed by a bilingual secular officiant

  • Beachfront couples massage

  • Romantic beachfront dinner for the couple

  • Bridal floral bouquet and Boutonniere for the groom

  • Suite decoration with flower petal, complimentary wine and late checkout up to 3pm

  • Onsite services of a professional wedding specialist

  • Complimentary online bridal registry and wedding website

  • Complimentary for the wedding couple plus up to 10 guests:

  • Sparkling wine toast, signature wedding cake

  • Decorated beach location, oceanfront gazebo, or rooftop sky deck

  • Special aisle runner, ceremony table with white linen and classic white wedding chairs

  • Sound system for the ceremony

If you’re looking for more than what the resort packages are offering you can even customize your wedding packages to add more for example if you want specialty linens, décor, DJ/Entertainment more flowers or a bigger cake but keep in mind this will be an additional cost to you. It’s all about what the wedding couples wants and needs are you have many options to choose from since most resorts are familiar with and work with local vendors and have their own on-site. Also most of the pre-designed packages at these are based on guest count so if you have more guest than the package offers, be prepared to pay a little more for the additional guest.

Some resorts might also offer resort credits for the spa and other services for the wedding couple and based on rooms nights booked a complimentary room night for the wedding couple, but that is on a resort by resort basis.

I’ve seen wedding packages for all-inclusive range for free to up to $3499 and up and this is based on package, décor, entertainment, specialty linen and number of guest so once again depending on your needs and wants you could spend a little more but honestly it would still be less expensive than a wedding stateside.
